The Mountain Card Meaning

Whenever I see the mountain, I see obstacles, or blockages.

Although the order matters for just about every card, the Mountain is one of those cards where it REALLY matters.

Here's what I mean.

Whatever is to the left of the mountain in a reading is being blocked. Whatever is to the right of the Mountain follows or contributes to the blockage depending on the card and the context.

Although the Mountain is generally a negative card, remember that most mountains are climbable. It won't be easy, but this is a blockage that can usually be scaled. If you want to know how to traverse this Mountain, look to your surrounding cards for clues or, better yet, ask how you can tackle this obstacle.

So gear up obstacle crusher. You have a mountain to climb.

Cross (36) = A large burden, a burden/challenge is blocked (depending on surrounding cards)

Example Spreads with the Mountain

QUESTION: I've been single for awhile. what does my dating life look like for the next 3 months?

ANSWER: The blockage you've been experiencing in your dating life is being cut and you are likely to find happiness in love in the next 3 months.

**Note**Since the Scythe is to the right of the Mountain, it is modifying it meaning that the blockage or challenge is cut off. Here, the Scythe is great!

QUESTION: I presented a new idea to my boss and I'm wondering if the idea will get the go ahead. What is likely to happen to this idea?

ANSWER: Your idea is likely to gain some traction initially but before being implemented, will be blocked.

**Note** The Mountain here is modifying the Ship since it is to the right of the ship, meaning the journey/implementation is blocked.

QUESTION: I JUST PUT AN OFFER IN TO BUY A HOUSE. HOW LIKELY IS IT THAT THE OFFER WILL BE ACCEPTED?

ANSWER: It's not likely the offer will be accepted. It seems there are challenges with the paperwork.
